Inspirations

A few days ago, one of my friends approached me and asked who inspired me to be a clinical psychologist. I had to think long and hard before answering her question. Then I realized, there isn't really specific person. When I was growing up, I've encountered a lot of people who had a rough life. Most of them did not know how to cope with their feelings and thoughts, and some refused to accept that something is wrong. I've seen people deal with problems doing bad habits such as drugs, alcohol and even self-harm. Witnessing all those, I knew from a young age that I had to help people like them. It may take a while, but I know that in the end, all the years I'll spent in school will eventually pay off. I'll be able to finally aid those in need, and be that person that will lift them up when they are down.

  2. ALyssa, psychology is a very interesting subject and I was inspired by reading your post and especially learning about the things that motivated you to choose this career option. I think that you can become a great clinical psychologist and I would definitely come to you if I ever needed that king of medical aid! :)

  3. It is great that you have the patience and want to go out of your way to help others in a tough spot such as self harm. I'm assuming you are in Atton's psychology class, I think that class is super interesting and I bet you love it!
